Facelifting is and remains a major procedure. Yet it offers almost only advantages: the effect remains for 10 to 15 years. We can achieve the following effects:

• sagging jowls give way to a smooth jowl contour,
• sunken nasolabial folds between the nostrils and the corners of the mouth become softer,
• deep marionette folds (also called "Merkel wrinkels") from the corner of the mouth to the edge of the chin are smoothened,
• lines on the cheeks disappear and the
• sagging neck skin in the case of a "turkey gobbler neck" immediately becomes smooth again.

Facelifting can do little against lines in the eyelids and around the lips. Here, Eyelid plastic surgery or subcutaneous injections for the lip wrinkles can help.

In spite of new methods that are being used, such as subcutaneous injections, filling and Botulinum toxin facelifting still has a permanent place in aesthetic plastic surgery. This specific procedure has recently experienced a revolution in the operative technique that is used. Today, as preparation for a facelift, we perform limited liposuction, which tightens the vessels noticeably in the entire area of the operation. This results in a clear reduction in the hematoma that appear, as compared to the traditional technique. Today, as a rule, facelift patients can function fully already after approximately one week.

The full facelift is carried out as an impatient procedure. Our patients remain in our hospital unit for two or three days, during which we do everything we can to make their stay as pleasant as possible. We provide the full security of a well equipped hospital with constant medical supervision and an intensive care unit. 24 hours after the operation, the drainage hoses are removed from the wound area. We apply a custom-made compression mask for two days. We remove the stitches in two steps in an outpatient procedure: as a rule on the 7th and 21st days after the operation.
